Prayer for when you need to bounce back

Have you hit a rough patch in your life? Maybe you had a big setback or got knocked down. Or perhaps you’re just worn out from the fight. Remember, this is not the last chapter in your life.

Don’t look for easy answers. Instead, take advantage of this time to reaffirm your relationship with God. This builds your character. As your faith deepens and grows, you are more solid and secure. And those who are strong in Christ are a blessing to others.

So don’t let the current moment define you. Reach out to God. Let him put you back on your feet. You’ll be wiser and more mature. Trust in the Lord and believe!

PRAYER WHEN YOU NEED TO BOUNCE BACK

Oh heavenly Lord,

You have blessed me. I know you love me. Still, I get tired and set back. The struggle never ends, as you call me to carry my cross.

Reach down to me, oh Lord, lift me up once again. Show me a deeper hope, a more complete joy.

The line of resistance is real. The enemy tempts me to shut down, give in and forget. Cast out his lies, oh Lord. Only you have the words of eternal life.

Help me dig down and break through. Deepen my trust in you. I can only ask for this grace, as on my own I am lost.

Show my heart, once again, that I am your child, my identity eternal, my soul at rest.

Make me strong and solid in the ways of the Lord, so I can carry my cross and glorify your name.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen.

Prayer for when you feel worthless

Feeling worthless happens to nearly everyone at some point. The hard part is if you feel this way often. A lot of it depends on your personal history. You may have been criticized or ignored. Or you might have had trouble realizing your dreams.

Regardless of your history, nobody is worthless. People and circumstances do not determine your worth as a human. Don’t let another person’s weakness bring you down. Rise above this. Every life has value. This was established forever by God as his creation is good. But there’s more.

You are so important to God, that he gave up his Son for you.

You may have heard this many times before, but stop and think about it again. God’s Son. His most beloved. Faithful and pure. Given up for you. That’s all the proof your heart and soul need. So listen, believe and be restored.

PRAYER FOR WHEN YOU FEEL WORTHLESS

Oh loving Lord,

I feel like all hope is lost. Where is the meaning in my life? I feel so worthless.

If there’s any chance for me it’s here, now, in your presence.

Help me, oh Lord, to remember, even though I heard the story many times. Tell it again to my heart. That a Savior came. A good man. A faithful man. He came for me to know that God loves me.

Giving up his place of purity and power, Jesus took my place on the cross. God loves me so much that he gave his only Son.

Reveal to my heart, oh Lord, the depth of his loving sacrifice. Pure innocence given up for me. Free me from the lie, oh Lord, that my life has no purpose.

Just being alive glorifies you, ror I am your creation.

May I embrace the truth that the hand of God makes my life possible.

And the Son of Man makes my soul free.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer for spiritual healing

Any time we get hurt, it can lead to a spiritual wound. This happens deep inside you and can affect almost any aspect of your life. In most cases, it begins with an emotional event such as loss, betrayal, abuse or negligence.

A very common reaction is to ignore the wound or try kill the pain with things that hurt you even more.

Spiritual wounds might be hard to identify. They may show up as anxiety or harmful attitudes and habits. You might feel sad, angry or unsatisfied with life. You might be over controlling. In prayer, God will show you the origin of these problems which is part of the healing process.

It’s okay to ask the right people for help, but complete healing of spiritual wounds can only come from the hand of Christ. If there is sin involved, repentance and restoration are essential. A spiritual guide can be a great help. Above all, trust in God to lead you through this process.

The fruit of healing is more confidence in the Lord. Plus, you may be able to accompany someone else on their healing journey. Nothing of God’s grace goes to waste.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL HEALING

Oh loving Lord,

You know my entire story. Only you fully understand my wounds and my hurt. Even when I hurt myself.

Only you can truly heal me. Won’t you help me, oh Lord? Show me how to open up and let you into where I hurt and bleed the most.

May I trust in Christ Jesus to care for my deepest wounds, The ones I want to forget about, the ones that hold me back. Those wounds I now surrender to your loving care.

Immerse me in your mercy. Pour out your Holy Spirit to heal and cleanse me. There is no other way, no other hope for me. Only you can restore this tired soul.

Bring life to me, oh Lord, strong and ready, as I know I am forgiven, and I am loved by the God of all creation.

Prayer for a break from the struggle

Are you overwhelmed? Need a break?

In some situations, it might seem like there is no relief in sight.

There is only one place you can go and find true rest, guaranteed. In the Lord’s presence, your soul receives the fresh water it needs. If you count on yourself, other people or circumstances to give you rest, you’ll eventually be disappointed.

Instead, find your true rest in Jesus. Yes, you can ask for things to change. But don’t depend on the exterior to calm your heart. In any situation, your soul can rest in the peace that Christ gives.

Go to him and get refreshed. Find true rest in the Lord.

PRAYER FOR A BREAK FROM THE STRUGGLE

Oh heavenly Lord,

I’m tired and wear. You know my struggles, my pain. So here in your presence I just want to take a break. I’m not asking for a perfect life Just some relief from the burden.

Even if it’s just more of you giving strength to my weary soul.

Here, now, I rest in you as you are my hope and salvation.

Yes, Lord, I know I can ask for you to change things, but if I must change first, help me.

I can’t do it alone.

You are the Almighty Lord, Creator of heaven and earth. I bow down to your will and invoke your Holy Spirit to take control of my life.

Renew me, restore me, and if it be your will, relieve my burden.

Give me courage and patience. Let your mercy be my guide. Give me peace in Christ.

By your grace alone. In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer for spiritual renewal

Has your relationship with God gone stale? Just like any relationship with a person, the same old routine isn’t always best. Yes, you need stability and consistency, but you also need freshness and life. A relationship with Jesus doesn’t have to be a spectacle, but it should not be boring either.

In every case, a healthy relationship with our Lord means growth. You’ll never get to perfection, but you improve. You never fully understand God’s ways, but your trust in him grows.

Look for ways to revive your spirit. Make a conscious effort. Seek God and his will more intensely. Go deeper and let him solidify your faith. Let the Lord make your joy more complete. Then watch your capacity to love grow.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL RENEWAL

Oh loving Lord,

Even though I know you and accept you as Lord and Savior, I don’t want to fall into a routine. So I come to you seeking a fresh, new perspective.

Not to throw away past lessons, but for your Spirit to rebuild and breathe new life into my faith.

Show me how to do this. Let me open myself completely to your voice; the voice that tells me God is love and in Christ all things are new.

Renew me, restore me, break me down if needed, then, let me fall in love again, oh Lord, trusting in your promises. Now a bit more mature and solid in the ways of the Master but still with so much to learn.

Let my joy be a deeper joy, one that celebrates and gives thanks.

Let my love be a deeper love, one that receives and gives life.

May it all start and end with my Lord, my God, my Savior Jesus Christ,

In his holy name,

Amen.

Prayer to trust more in God’s Spirit

When you trust someone, you let them see a side of you that others might not see. You share intimate feelings with them, and you respect their opinion. The Holy Spirit is a person. And he is a person you can trust infinitely.

So tell him your story. Talk to the Spirit about your hopes, fears and miseries. Lay it all out. It’s a place where you can let your guard down and express yourself freely. Then listen. Listen to what the Spirit has to say to you, even if it’s a tough truth you need to hear.

As time passes, this relationship with the Holy Spirit grows into a deeper trust. You will realize you have more clarity and courage. You’ll see things from a different perspective you never had. Miracles will unfold before you. Your relationship with the Spirit starts in trust and grows in trust.

Trust the Spirit. Let him in. Let him set you free, heal you and transform you. Then go forth into the world as a faithful servant of God.

PRAYER TO TRUST MORE IN GOD’S SPIRIT

Oh heavenly Lord,

As your child I know the Spirit lives in me. This is the promise of God made through Christ. Now, oh Lord, help me to trust more in your Spirit, even if I don’t have confidence in myself.

Free me from the trap of thinking it all depends on me or my understanding. Instead, let me surrender myself unto you.

Show me how to be humble and open my heart to God. Bring down the obstacles, oh Lord, pour out your Spirit over me, remove my fear and doubt. Allow me to listen and obey.

This cannot happen without you, my Lord, my God.

Form my character to give ample room for your Spirit to work inside me. May your truth and grace take control of my life,

Since I belong to you.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer to protect your heart

Sometimes we think protecting our hearts means avoiding pain. But in the end, isolation does more harm than good. It’s normal to want to avoid pain, but the strong heart accepts and understands the meaning of suffering.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a defense. And the best protection is a close relationship with Jesus. He heals you and sets you free. He teaches you the “why” of hurt. It’s not easy, and it may take a long time, but in the end you see things from the perspective of God’s Son. He took all our blame even though he was innocent. Jesus knew that the only way to truly protect his heart from all the pain was to love more.

Pray and protect your heart

So don’t go into this world unprepared. It will either leave you very damaged or cause you to harden your heart. Instead, make a difference. Ask for God’s Spirit to work inside you to give you a strong heart. Get divine protection, and the Good News will flow out and bless those around you.

PRAYER TO PROTECT YOUR HEART

Oh heavenly Lord,

The world suffers and bleeds. It hurts to know and see it. My own failure stings me.

How do I protect my heart, oh Lord? Won’t you show me? A heart of stone never hurts and never bleeds. A heart of stone feels nothing, but this is not what I want.

Give me a loyal heart, oh Lord, a courageous heart, a loving heart. May your Spirit do this for me. Let me not be foolish or afraid. Jesus saw the suffering, but he did not run and hide. Instead he gave his life.

Let me know that in caring and giving my heart becomes stronger. Yes, it will hurt sometimes, but I will be fully alive. Full of the Spirit.

And in all things my heart will rejoice at the glory God.

May it be this way according to your will, oh Lord, according to your way.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer to not be so demanding

Have you become unbearably strict? With yourself? With others? Sadly, this can occur in many Christians since they want to improve their lives. The problem is when we try to do this all on our own.

What happens when we exclude God from the process? We exclude love.

Check how high you set the performance bar. Also, take note of your attitude when trying to improve something. Are your expectations unrealistic? Are you forgetting about the hearts involved?

The Pharisees were not bad people, or at least not any worse than the average person. Their problem was that they thought by their efforts alone, they could please God. So they ended up crucifying Christ. Meanwhile, our heavenly Father sent his Son to show us the true way to commune with God.

It’s not about control, but about complete trust in the Lord and his will. This doesn’t mean inaction. Instead, it’s action and attitude guided by the Spirit. Yes, we all have to do our part, but give God room to do his good work. Rest upon his promises.

Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew 9:13

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

PRAYER TO NOT BE SO DEMANDING (regular text)

Oh loving Lord,

I’m so tied up in knots. I want to be responsible and do the right thing. Am I overdoing it?

Free me from thinking it all depends on me. Soften my heart, oh Lord, towards others and myself. Help me to accept imperfection. Let me be patient and kind.

Yes, there is work to be done and limits to respect. But let it be done from a heart that loves instead of one that demands. Show me how, oh Lord. I can’t do this on my own, But you can, so I go to you.

Show me the way. Change my heart and mind to understand that mercy wins over sacrifice. And love suffers all things for the glory of Christ.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer to cast out the lies of the enemy

We all blow things out of proportion at times. It could be because you are tired or overworked. Or maybe you have deeper issues that need to be resolved. Whatever the reason, in many cases, the enemy is part of the problem.

What does the enemy do? He tells you lies that even the smallest inconvenience is the end of the world. Another lie he tells you is that everything revolves around you and your schedule. So take yourself out of the center of the universe. There is only one innocent and faithful enough to be there.

When we return to Jesus, our perspective changes. We realize how much we have been given. We begin to be more thankful. We understand that we can forgive and be forgiven. The Holy Spirit shows us the clear dimensions of a problem and the right way to handle them.

Pray for the enemy to be cast out

The prayer for liberation can be intense. Always invoke the name of Jesus during this kind of prayer. It is serious spiritual combat, and you want our leader King to be in control of the fight.

Then, when the turmoil fades, rest in his peace. Rise up and keep going. Know that the Lord goes with you.

Prayer to cast out the lies of the enemy

Oh heavenly Lord,

The enemy rises up like a river against me. I have problems and trials. Some are tremendous. And the demon wraps me up and tangles me in my thoughts.

He wants me to be afraid.

Do not let this happen, oh Lord. Stand up for me, rise up! For you are a mighty Lord. Send your Spirit to defend me.

In the name of Jesus, I reject the lies of the enemy that tells me all is lost. Instead, I take up my shield of faith and the blade that is God’s word.

Cast out the evil one, oh Lord! In Jesus name, send the influence of the enemy far from me.

By the blood of Christ I am saved. In his resurrection I am confident. In proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ I have courage. My life has meaning, value and joy.

In my heart there is only room for one King.

My Christ, my Savior, my Lord,

In the name of Jesus,

Prayer for help with a difficult life

Everybody faces challenges, but some are especially difficult. Sometimes you may not have much more to depend on beyond God’s word and prayer. The secret is that in those resources you’ll find the most important answers. It’s not just a “spiritual thing”. When you seek God’s guidance, you have greater strength and clarity to make decisions. And if it is his will, you might even experience a miracle.

This doesn’t mean you should not seek help. Talk to a trusted friend, pastor or priest. Seek professionals or organizations that might help your situation. For instance, many have written in saying they are, or might end up, homeless. Here are two sites that can help:
