Prayer for myself

Do you pray for other people a lot? What about praying for yourself? Sometimes, we need to pray just for ourselves. This doesn’t mean your are selfish. It simply means you trust in our good and generous God.

Take the time to pray for yourself. This gives you the comfort and restoration you need. You can gain meaning and freedom. Then you can serve others with renewed energy. First, receive the love and blessings of the Lord. Then, go out to share the Good News with the world.

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

Prayer for myself

O loving Lord,

I’m worn out & wounded. Do you see my struggle? Can you see me, Lord?

Right here, right now, I open myself up to you.

I’ve seen so many things. I’ve been hurt for far too long. And now the only hope I have is Jesus.

I know he never leaves me. He will never turn me away. And just by saying his name I begin to sense a change.

Jesus is my Lord, my Savior.

So heal me, O Lord, cleanse me. Lift me up to you again. I release all my pain, my worry, my shame – I give it all up to you.

In return you offer me eternal life. You are the Lord my God.

By your grace I am forgiven. I can be responsible & free. You make me strong & faithful. You fill my heart with joy.

May it all be for my good and for your glory.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

Prayer to stay solid & strong

Are you facing a difficult moment in your life? Certainly, it’s not the first time. Don’t forget, in the past you also faced tough times. And you got through them. You were faithful, steady, and sure. You made it to the other side.

Do you remember in the past when you found strength you never knew you had? Despite your weakness, you were strong somehow. That’s God’s grace working miracles in your life. Nobody is perfect 100%. But God places the capacity in all of us to do great things.

And what are those great things? It’s being a solid father, mother, sister, or brother. It’s caring for a loved one. It’s being a friend. You are present when you’re needed. You don’t have to be a hero. You just have to show up and do your best.

So find rest in the Lord. He will sustain you and lift you up. He is your strength and salvation.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Prayer to stay solid and strong

O merciful Lord,

I doubt and I worry. People say things to me that tear me down. The enemy tempts me to give up and run away.

Won’t you help me, O Lord?

First let me know that I am far from perfect. I accept my limits. I have my history & my sins.

And by the blood of Christ I have been set free.

I open the archives of my faith. You called me as your child. Your hand guided me & kept me safe, so many times before.

And from that place of strength, where your Spirit lives in me, this child of God takes courage. I stay centered, steady & firm.

Come what may, get me ready in body, spirit, and mind. For this free, forgiven soul stands firm on the love of the Lord.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen.

Prayer for a heart after God’s own heart

Do you ever feel out of sync? Instead of things flowing freely, it seems like you stumble through life. Could it be due to not taking God into account? Are you keeping him at the fringes of your life? What might things look like if you truly trusted in him?

A heart after God’s own heart means you do your absolute best to go all in for the Lord. This doesn’t mean fanaticism. Instead, it’s a deep relationship, a holy bond. It’s hearing, obeying, and loving the Lord. You pay attention to what your heart needs and to what God gives you.

The result? You are in tune with the Spirit of God. Your life isn’t perfect, but you take things in stride. You avoid unnecessary suffering, and things gradually fall into place.

So call out to the Lord. Receive a graceful mix of humility and courage. Carry the Holy Spirit with you wherever you go. Then watch your life be filled with wonder and joy.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Prayer for a heart after God’s own heart

O mighty Lord,

I come to your presence. Here I find rest. I can’t get through this life on my own. Here I place my heart in your loving hands.

O blessed Lord, mold my heart to your heart.

Let me see as you see. Let me feel as you feel.

Let me love as you love. Let me give as you give.

This is the way of my Lord, my Savior Jesus Christ.

Let me not be afraid to open my heart to your Spirit of life everlasting.

May I trust in all you have prepared for me.

May I walk with you, O Lord, humble yet sure.

I am safe in your hands. Nothing can take me away from you.

My heart cries out for joy. My soul forever free.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Prayer for a heart like Jesus’

It’s difficult to maintain a tender heart these days. Like everyone, you face lots of pressure. You encounter people who are angry, sad or frustrated — and it hurts. Your own troubles weigh you down. And as a defense, you might be tempted to harden your heart.

But a hard heart keeps God’s Spirit out too. A hardened heart doesn’t feel much pain or joy. It’s afraid to love. So return to the Lord to have your heart restored. He waits for you now and always.

Let the Lord renew you. Let him return your heart of flesh. Let him give you a heart like Jesus’.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Ezekiel 36:26

PRAYER FOR A HEART LIKE JESUS’

O blessed Lord,

I’ve been through so much. I’m beat, down & tired. So many worries. So much pain. My own failure faces me.

Can you help me, O Lord? Will you lift up this weary child once again?

May your Spirit speak to my spirit again. I listen. I trust & believe. I refuse to accept that all is lost. I reject the lies of the enemy telling me there’s no hope. The Lord cleanses me. He heals me.

For my God is the God of the living, and Jesus Christ my salvation. So I will embrace life as difficult as it may be. And my heart will hurt sometimes.

But Jesus loves me with a human heart. Give me a heart like his heart. Healthy. Strong. Full of life.

Not afraid to feel. Not afraid to love.

In Jesus’ name I pray,

Amen.

Prayer for when your heart hurts

Have you been suffering from a hurting heart? Maybe you are in a fight with someone, or maybe there’s a distance, and it’s been going on for a long time. Or perhaps someone you know is hurting themself. It seems like there’s no way out, no solution.

Perhaps you’ve reached a point where you’re no longer interested in who’s right or wrong. You just want the relationship and people to heal. You hope for restoration. But there may be a lot of history, the struggle continues, and the hurt remains.

So you can choose to run away, harden your heart, or run to God. Is love is worth the wait? Let the Spirit be your comfort and your guide.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

PRAYER FOR WHEN YOUR HEART HURTS

O merciful Lord,

I tremble. I’m weak. I barely have the strength to pray.

I just want to run away from it all. Part of me has been hurting for oh so long.

But my heart knows, and my spirit knows.

And my soul cries out “Go to the Lord!” In you I will find my refuge.

I struggle to understand. It so hard to accept the pain I feel in my heart.

For love lives there, and love will suffer for its beloved.

Here I am, O Lord! Here I am!

I have nothing left to give. I feel empty & abandoned.

So I seek you. I cling to you. In Jesus name I ask for your healing mercy.

I go to you as I have no other answer, no other hope

than Jesus Christ my Savior, my Lord.

Amen.

Prayer for when you made a mistake

We all make mistakes. Still, knowing this doesn’t make it feel much better, does it?

Maybe you messed up at work, or perhaps you’re struggling in a relationship. Sometimes your mistake was clearly a bad decision. In other cases, things may have been beyond your control.

In every mistake there is a blessing waiting to be born. If you go to God with a sincere and humble heart, something amazing happens.

First, he forgives you completely without question. Christ is eternal proof of God’s mercy. Then, the Lord transforms your mistake into a valuable lesson. You learn to understand and improve the things you don’t like about yourself. God purifies your character. And that’s awesome and powerful.

It’s a wonderous process of freedom and healing. It makes you a better friend, husband, wife, sibling, parent, or worker. It lets you be more authentic and secure. God’s purifying grace lets you love yourself and others more.

So hurry to God when you mess up. Don’t be afraid. Go through the process and trust in the Lord. You won’t be perfect, but you don’t give up either. It’s all part of the wonderful walk with our Savior Jesus Christ.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

Prayer for when you made a mistake

O merciful Lord,

I made a mess of things. I feel terrible, so foolish. Why does this keep happening to me?

Show me, O Lord, if there is sin in my heart. Give me courage to face my defects and my pride. Forgive me of my sins.

Reveal to me when I have been misguided by others and by life. Heal my deepest wounds.

I do not seek perfection. Instead, I ask for your merciful grace. You are kind and patient with me. Help me to be patient with myself.

Comfort this weary child. Lift me up again, O Lord. May your loving grace nourish & restore my soul.

In Christ I will keep trying. By his blood, I am forever free

No pressure

Are you feeling confined or trapped? Are you under a lot of pressure? Some situations may be impossible to avoid. You know what you have to do, but still, the pressure can get to you.

Don’t forget to stop every once in a while to take time out for yourself. Go for a walk, ride a bike, and clear your head. Make time to pray. When you go to God’s presence, things take on a new perspective.

Life certainly is not easy, but if you let the Lord untie the knots in your soul, everything changes.

Be blessed!

He reached down from on high and took hold of me;

NO PRESSURE

Sometimes you feel stuck or trapped. Everyday life ties you up in knots. Maybe it’s real or all in your mind. Still, all you want is to be free.

But you have tasks & responsibilities. You can’t just run away. That’s not you. So you show up. You stay put. And it’s okay, but still, sometimes, it’s hard. It hurts inside.

Who will show you the way? Who can lead you out of the wilderness into a wide-open space?

It is He who spreads out the great blue sky above you. It is He who opens up the heavens and whispers to your heart.

It is He who tells you, the struggle is worth it. You are loved beyond measure.

Be strong. Be brave.

And by the grace of God, you know you can do it. You can be steady. Solid and sure.

Knots untied, you return. You bless each task. You make them holy.

You walk free in a spacious place. Nothing can tear you down. Nothing can steal your joy.

Sweet tender mercy

Please, dear child of God, never forget

the sweet tender mercy of the Lord.

You may have found yourself down and out. Sad or hopeless. You let yourself and others down. Hurt comes raging in from all sides.

And a deep yearning leaves you empty.

So you think, Am I worth anything at all?

Please, dear child of God, remember…

You are loved by the Lord.

You matter dearly to him.

You are a creation of God Almighty, made in his image. This truth gives your life great worth. The work of the hand of God is always good.

No one can love like you love.

No one can give like you give.

And God loves you like no other. His love for you is personal and eternal. God’s love will never be held back from you.

And know this, dear sweet child of God,

when you were hurting, Jesus never left your side. He took the hurt with you, even when you hurt yourself.

He cries with you and feels the same hurt you feel. He holds nothing back to be with you. His way is the way of the cross. Arms wide open he loves you.

And by his blood, you are forgiven. You are made innocent and new in the eyes of God the Father.

Please, dear child of God, never forget

the sweet tender mercy of the Lord.

Prayer for encouragement

Are you feeling down and out? Does it seem like the entire world is against you? Or maybe you’re spinning around in circles (or making the same mistakes) and just can’t move forward. Well guess what? The game is not over. There’s still lots of road ahead of you.

One of the keys to moving ahead is to remember what you already have. Count your blessings and the gifts God has given you. Go back to the times when he came through for you. Remember when you found strength and courage you didn’t realize you had.

Even if your life is tough, the Lord has brought you forward to this place, here, now. You are alive. You matter. You are loved.

In Jesus Christ, you have everything no matter how complicated things get. Do not underestimate the power of your faith to change things.

So gear up and get ready. Go to God and be filled with his Spirit. Go forth and live your life to the fullest… in his grace and according to his wondrous will. Be encouraged by the Lord!

We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

Prayer for encouragement

O merciful Lord,

You have shown me time and time again. In my day-to-day struggles, despite my insecurities, You are with me always.

How many times have I fallen and you lifted me up?

How many times did I get through tough times with your hand protecting me?

So often I might have fallen, but your love kept me safe. And so now, I return to the storehouse of my faith.

I recount and recall  your victories in my life.

And I remember:

I am a sinner saved. The Spirit of God lives in me. He makes me nimble & strong.

I will move forward. I will take good courage. I lift my head up high. as God goes with me, and Christ is my King.

In Jesus name I pray,

Amen.
