Prayer to deal with confrontation

If you see something wrong, what do you do about it? Do you speak up or keep quiet? Are you afraid or angry? Before you confront a person about anything, consider these questions:

  • Is the mistake, or sin, something obvious?
  • Are you a first hand witness?
  • Was the mistake a one time occurence, or repeated?
  • Have you resolved significant failure in your life?
  • Would silence speak louder than words?

You don’t have to be perfect to correct someone, but you should have the right motives. If you have feelings of anger, resentment, or vengeance, then it’s better to wait.

Resist the temptation to mix in other issues you might have. Instead, be very specific. Your primary goal should be to restore the person. Like Jesus, using a clear strategy keeps you free of Satan’s traps. During the entire process, be prayerful. Let God show you the way.

Prayer to filled by God’s Spirit

Do you have a lot of responsibilities piling up? It all just seems like too much sometimes, doesn’t it? Don’t seek perfection or reliance on yourself alone. Seek God instead.

You might not have the time, but make the time. Ask God to fill you with his Spirit. Then you will see things more clearly. You’ll be more organized. When God is your first priority, he shows you how to prioritize your life.

So cry up and out to him. And even if you fall short or make a mistake, you know he is there to lift you up again. Our God is mighty, great and loving. Praise his holy name!

Prayer for a fresh start

Stuck in a rut? Does it seem like you just can’t move forward? Maybe you’re tired or overwhelmed. Or you might feel like life is stale with nothing new or exciting.

When this happens, be careful not to fall into a trap. In moments when you feel stuck or bored, temptations often appear. Don’t make a mistake. Return to God. Stay strong and faithful!

Intensify your relationship with Jesus. Yes, it requires effort, but the rewards are heavenly.

Prayer for those who persecute you

If you are facing any kind of persecution, turn to God for help. No matter how difficult the situation, your prayers make a difference. God hears your prayer, and he helps you deal with any aggression. Whether it’s a miracle or just to give you strength, the Lord will not abandon you. These situations almost never end quickly, so rest upon the Word of God.

This doesn’t mean there is any excuse for abuse. You don’t have to tolerate an abusive relationship. Still, be careful to avoid any desire for vengeance. Seek the Spirit’s guide in how to respond. Also, talk to a trusted spiritual guide or friend about these things.

If you are being persecuted for your faith, remain strong… and rejoice! Today, it can be harder than ever to follow Christ. If you stay faithful, he will show you how.

Prayer for when I am under pressure

You have  responsibilities, but you don’t seem to have enough time or energy. You can’t escape your reality either. Still, it’s a good idea to discern where you might be wasting time. You can’t solve everyone’s problems.

No doubt, there are things you can’t avoid. You have to face them. And when it seems to be too much, it’s even more important to spend time in God’s presence. You might feel you don’t have the time, but in the end it saves you time. God gives you a clear mind. This makes you more efficient. You worry less and have more energy. Resist the temptation to try to do it on your own.

Yes, you suffer. Of course it’s hard. But if you let God’s Spirit work in you, then your character in Christ becomes stronger. Go to him. Rest in the Lord. Then face your challenges with confidence in God.

Needing prayer support

Prayer to remain steady

The worries of this world make you feel hurried. Even too many good things can take away your peace. Duties and problems appear, and it seems like you just can’t keep up.

Ask God to guide you. Let him show you where you can say “no” and set limits. You can’t be everywhere for everything. Remember, God is in control. Trust in this. Let him do the heavy lifting.

This doesn’t mean you ignore your responsibilities. Instead, the Spirit blows away the clutter and keeps you focused. You see where you should be and what you should do. The rest is in God’s hands… as are you.

Prayer to live by grace

Have you ever tried to give up a bad habit? Or you might seek to get free of negative behavior or attitudes.

If you do this out of obligation, it might help you. But if you make a change because of love, then miraculous things occur. Even though you can’t force it, you can pray for it. Ask God to mold your heart. Let his grace transform you and purify your motives.

Instead of saying, “I have to,” let your heart say, “I want to. I want to because I am loved by a great God who sent his Son to save me. Now I can love in return.”

Prayer to purify my heart

Do you run away from purity? Are your motives distorted by the temptations of this world? What does it take to have a pure heart?

We’ve all made mistakes. Nobody is perfect. Still, if you seek perfection in God, things change in miraculous ways. A pure heart is clear and uncontaminated. Purity means health — and the unclean can be cleansed.

You might think, “It’s too late for me”. It’s okay to be humbled by failure, but don’t get stuck in a lie. Instead, place your humiliation in the loving hands of Christ. It’s never too late. Let him clean your wounds.  Ask God to purify your heart, and you’ll see things with more clarity. Become a healthy part of the living Body of Christ.

Prayer for when what’s right isn’t clear

Are you facing a situation where right and wrong aren’t obvious? You want to be on the side of justice and fairness, but life is complicated. Sometimes it seems like there’s no way out, and you just want to run away.

Run to Jesus instead. You don’t have to have all the answers. Identify the things that are true to you. What does your heart say? If you’re not sure, talk about it with a trusted friend. And pray hard. The harder the question, the more you need to talk to God about it.

Remember, your faith shines brightest in difficult times. God never leaves any situation. His hand will be upon you if you trust in him.
