Prayer for restoration during struggle

Many people are worried now about protecting their health, and that’s fine. We should be careful. Still, some protective mechanisms might be forgotten.

For example:

…Make sure you eat healthy. Build up your natural defenses with plenty of fruits and veggies.

…Get exercise. Even if you haven’t exercised much in the past, you can start now. There are tons of videos online that can help you start according to your fitness level.

…Take a break from the cellphone and the news. Excess information will only stress you out. Don’t leave the TV on blaring bad news all day. Shut it off.

There’s no doubt our stress levels have gone up a lot these days. This means it’s even more important to seek God in prayer to let out your stress and anguish. If not, you might take it out on those around you.

Instead, you should be a source of peace and stability. Don’t worry, God can handle the worst of you… and he will give you his best, Jesus Christ.

Be restored by the Lord. Do not fear. Deepen your trust in God, and face every day with courage. You can do it!

“Be still, and know that I am God.
I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth!”

Psalm 46:10

So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

Isaiah 59:19

You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

Psalm 91:5-7

PRAYER FOR RESTORATION DURING STRUGGLE

O merciful Lord,

Everything has changed so fast. Bad news comes like a river. How can I cope? How can I comprehend?

I cry out to you, my Lord, my God. Today I reach out and up again as I have so many times before. You alone are my refuge. You alone are my hope.

I come to you. You give me rest. Restore this tired child of yours.

Pour out your loving Spirit over me. I need the tenderness of Jesus.

And then… I will rise with Christ.

The Lord makes me nimble & quick. He provides me clarity and strength. And even in the face of calamity, I am sure. I am steady.

I am a child of God.

Nothing can take that away from me. No pestilence or danger will destroy me.

My identity indestructible, for the Lord’s promises are eternal.

God’s word is the final word.

I pray for this in Jesus’ name,

Amen.
