Prayer for preparation

What are you getting ready for? A test, meeting, or conversation? Maybe you are preparing for a celebration, and it’s stressing you out. No matter the situation, if you pray about it first, things will be more clear.

Go ahead. Go to God and pour out all your fears, worries, and desires. Let it all out at his feet. Then, in his presence, he will begin to put things in order. His Spirit will guide you and prepare your heart.

Sometimes situations won’t change right away. But when you pray, you change. Your mind and heart see Christ at the center of your life. And this puts it all into the right perspective.

So get ready. Go to God and let him prepare you.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Psalm 32:8

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.

John 16:13-14

PRAYER FOR PREPARATION

O merciful Lord,

Here I am. I am facing a situation, and I seek your presence. I ask for guidance.

First, let me open my heart to your Holy Spirit. May he put my thoughts and feelings in order. Let the Kingdom of God come alive in me.

Let me know above all things that I am forgiven, that I am loved, and that Christ is with me. Press this deep into my heart, O loving Lord.

Pour out your grace and prepare the moment, to open hearts and minds. May your Spirit give me clarity and confidence, as I know I am a child of God.

And above all things, may your will be done. Let the moment glorify you. Prepare me, O Lord, and may my life praise Jesus, my Savior, my King.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
