Have you ever asked God for more faith? The Apostles did (Luke 17:5). Still, at that time, they didn’t have the full picture. Jesus was still with them, and he had not yet completed his full mission.
Sometimes we say we want more faith, but our actions show we just want a little bit of God. So we spend lots of time with our cell phones, watching TV, on social media, or many other frivolous activities. But we don’t spend much time reading the Bible, in prayer, or helping others.
Then when times get tough, we wonder why our faith is weak. If you don’t exercise, your body won’t be fit. If you don’t exercise your faith, it can’t be strong either.
The promises of God go far beyond the riches and comfort of this world. His promises are heavenly and eternal. To claim them all, you need a strong faith.
If you want your faith grow deeper, do these things:
Read God’s Word. Pray. Be an active member in your church community. Find ways to serve and love your neighbor in a concrete and repeated way. Forgive and ask for forgiveness. Give up any sense of security into God’s hands.
If you do these things, and ask for God’s help, your faith is certain to grow.

PRAYER TO DEEPEN MY FAITH
Oh blessed Lord,
Sometimes I feel my faith is weak and shallow. but I want more. Oh Lord, show me how.
Help me to trust and depend on you to guide me.
Give me hunger for your Word, a thirst for your presence, and the courage to live as a disciple of Christ.
Show me, oh Lord, where I must put my faith to the test to make it authentic and strong.
And even if the enemy sends his legions against me, may I stand firm knowing my faith defends me, and your Word strikes Satan down.
Above all, oh loving Lord, reveal to my heart how great faith comes to the humble.
As God is all I have and all I need.

Thankful for this prayer and God’s unfailing love even when I begin to doubt. Going through a difficult time where my faith is being tested, and the enemy is throwing fiery darts at my mind and heart. Lord, help me to keep my eyes on you, and cling to your promises.
