Even in the worst situations, the grace of God can reveal to you reasons to be thankful. Seek the Lord and you will find purpose and meaning to any circumstance. And you will find the strength to persevere.

PRAYER TO GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD

O blessed Lord,

You revealed to my heart your teachings. You give me strength I never knew I had. You lifted up this broken child and put me on my feet.

Your peace pours out over me from the sacred wounds of Christ. And when the enemy rises up, you cast him out far from me.

For all this and more I thank you, O loving Lord. Your abundant grace & mercy fill my heart with joy. You are so good to me.

PRAYER TO FIND REFUGE IN THE LORD

O loving Lord,

It’s not easy for me these days. Where can I find truth? Where can I be safe?

In the storm you call out to me. You tell me Lord, I am yours. You are mine. In your love and mercy I find the safest place.

My life may be full of trials, but in Christ I stand firm. In this world there may be trouble, but you save my soul forever. No matter what may come my hope rests on the heavenly promises of God.

For you are the Lord that drives out sin and despair. You lifted me up and told me, “You are my child. Be not afraid!”

You give me life eternal. You set me free forever.

I put my full trust in you, O Lord. Protect me. Guide me. May your Spirit go forward to prepare the way. The way of Jesus Christ, my King.

PRAYER FOR A DIVIDED FAMILY

O loving Lord,

Do you see my family? Can you see my hurt? How long, O Lord, will it last? When will we be united again?

I don’t know why it has to be this way, but it is. Help my heart to understand. Give me comfort even though I see my family torn apart.

I seek rest in your Spirit. May I remain faithful to Christ by staying faithful to my family. Show us how to heal and forgive.

Help me to keep my convictions but also love truly. Jesus shows how it’s done on the cross. Christ resurrected reveals to me God’s power for those who wait.

I will not lose hope. I will stay faithful and true. I reject the lies of the enemy. May your mighty Spirit work in us.

Although we all face challenges, some situations in life are more extreme than others. When you’re at your limit–and life seems like it’s falling apart–it is very hard to keep the faith.

O merciful Lord,

Only you truly know how hard life is for me. Only you know how much I hurt. Where can I go but to you?

The pain is so deep, I can hardly bear it. Only Christ on the cross helps me understand.

And so, I hold on tight to my Lord. I offer my wounded heart wide open to your mercy. Only my soul fully knows how much faith means to me now.

Despite the hurt, my trust in God is unshakable.

O merciful Lord,

O blessed Lord,

I carry my wounds deep inside. Can I hide them even from you? How long will I hurt? How lonely is my heart?

Help me, O Lord, to trust you. You gave me Jesus, your only Son. Innocent. Faithful. Pure. What further proof do I need? The love of God has no limit.
