Hello Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Just over two years ago I gave the devil a foothold because of my anger. Things weren’t going well at work and my Mother had found out she had breast cancer(She is OK now Thank the Lord). I was letting it all get to me and I didn’t realise how angry I was getting day after day. I have a friend who I have known for over thirty years and we have never had a cross word. He works in very close proximity to me in fact in an office just behind a wall to where I work. His job is different to mine but I was getting more angry every day and I was mistakenly expecting him to come out and help me. I was directing my anger to him and I know I shouldn’t have. They say you hurt the ones you love the most. Soon after I was lying in bed I was thinking about my mum and a loud voice came into my head saying that I hated my friend Ian. Over and over and over again. So strong that I began to believe it. It is still there after all this time. Its ruining how I interact with him and I’ve had to get some tablets for depression from the Doctor’s. I really regret getting angry as I am usually a placid person who wouldn’t hurt a fly. I am going to Church and have asked for prayer but it just goes on and on. Please would you pray for me to get the devil off my back. I am also trying to think good thoughts but I can’t seem to get a break through. Sorry for the long post. I thankyou for your prayers sorry if I sound like a hypocrite because it was me who sinned in my anger and I know the Bible warns against this.
Thank you Mark for sharing your story. Your reaction is not so uncommon. Strong emotions can cause strong reactions.
Stop feeling guilty. Instead, go to God for forgiveness.
Also, pray for your friend. Ask God to bless him. When you are ready, you might want to apologize to him too.
I will be praying for you. May the Lord free the captives!
Am dealing with extreme anxiety and racing thoughts that are making me miserable.
Praying for you now Chris…
