I was abused in many different ways when I was a child and all the years of growing up. . I’ve been married for 38 years, I have been emotionally abused.by my husband. He’s controlling, very argumentative because he instantly disagrees with almost everything I say, always on the other persons side and has a personality of a socialpath. I was born a highly sensitive person but I’ve always had enough confidence to keep me going until now. Being a highly sensitive person, I seriously do care and am very empathic toward other people, even my husband. But I do get angry, frustrated and sad. It’s a viscous emotional combination. I’ve heard of the victim mentality, but that’s an understatement for what I’ve been through. Jesus was God and He was perfect and knew what He was to go through. I am not Jesus, I am a human being, not God. I never had another empathetic or truly loving person in my life. So its hard to fathom. Now I have waking migraines for over a year. Every single time I wake up (which is like 3-5 times a night), I have another migraine. It’s hard for me to even function. I’m seeing doctors, taking meds (which I hate) and getting physical therapy now. I have no place to go to get away from him, even for a short time. Even if I did, I’d lose my doctors now. He has mellowed some in his older years which has helped some but the damage has already taken place and he still has the skills and uses them. My son has multiple disorders, some like his dad and is 31, living at home and is going for his medical license. I feel that God has abandoned me and won’t heal me so that I can be strong and function again because it’s like I’m a waste of time or that I’m too damaged. But I need God’s help so much now but I don’t get answers. I pray and pray. I feel a lot that God’s just given up on me. So obviously I don’t feel like praying. I pray for others and thank God that He is so mighty, loving and can cure all. And there’s others that are praying for me too but here I am needing more powerful prayers. I’m sorry that this is so long, so thank you for listening.
Hello J… I’m so sorry to hear about your trials. I can’t give you any easy answers, but I will pray for you. Keep seeking God. Go for a deeper faith. This is the best way to deal with your situation. Gain strength in the Lord. Also, please talk to others. Find a pastor or priest you trust, or a friend that walks with God. Do not try to handle all this by yourself.

I will be praying for you and your family!
Hi Vincent Chough,
Thank you so much for your prayers. I sure appreciate it, more than you might know. We do have a pastor but I don’t feel comfortable talking about all this to him. I just couldn’t. I know it’s a lot and I wish to God it wasn’t but it is. Thank you too for the article. I will read it.
Blessings to you,
Joy
no need to say sorry this is how we can get answers let me tell you about me I use to believe there was no God! because I felt the way you do I still am not perfect believe I make mistakes but in the Bible God says he only helps those who help themselves so he asks for us to change if we want to free will he also says don’t do it for me do it for you it’s for your own good ! I learned the hard way because I made those choices I use to blame my husband the whole world I was blind to see what is Stephanie doing wrong soi did the hardest thing anyone can do admitted my faults there was only one person to blame myself. maybe this will help focus on you fix yourself before you can help others you must be honest humble and the same inside an out with time you will get there forgive those who hurt you let go of the past and when you are ready slowly you will change there hope for everyone God loves us but he disciplines us because he loves us God Bless you also the doctors are right to taking your meds every day if you follow their guidance it works ok believe in yourself

I am asking for my biological mother to forgive me.. this is the story.. my parents were divorced when I was 5 and my father kept my mother away from me… we found each other in 2012 and formed what I believed to be a great relationship. My stepmom who had been in my life for 45 years got sick and passed away a week before thanksgiving last year… my mom and brother were supposed to come out for thanksgiving and due to my stepmom passing I was not in the right mind to have company…so we cancelled on then coming out and she says I chose my stepmom over her and she is very angry at me… doesn’t even want me to visit so I can see my brother. Please pray with me and forme that she finds forgiveness for me. Thank you
Oh Lord… send your healing love… free them from the lies of the enemy… unite them, restore them… let the Spirit of Christ make all things new…
Thank you LeAnn for sharing your story. I will be praying for you and your family!
it takes more than prayers I know you don’t want to hear it. try to think about what can you do to change yourself God only helps those who help themselves it takes willpower different friends environment if we all lived a peaceful life without negativity, victimizing ourselves you will see a difference read the bible also work on you ok!
I know my bible but I have never read “God helps those who helps themselves.” If that was so, we wouldn’t need God. He is our healer, our savior, our strength, our peace and our only real hope and help. He wants us to lean on him not on ourselves. People that were truly abused have many, many scars that hinder their lives that most people don’t realize at all. We can forgive but that doesn’t fix the scars. It’s not just a bad episode that happened, it goes on and on in most of our years and all through teen years when a child needs nutured and loved which shapes us. So people seriously need to educate themselves about what it really means to be an abused child. Rape, abandoness, physical and emotional abuse, bullying and many other aspects that lead to PTSD, so is not a simple solution. It’s a modern quote to speak of a “victim mentality.” Actually, that little quote lets everyone off the hook to even try to help the person who has been severely abused. How Christian is that? It’s not at all!! This person needs Christian love, concern, time, security, trust, empathy and comfort. They’re starving for it. When all they get back is a so called, “Victim mentality. Forgive and get on with your life.” That’s a true cop out for Christians. Actually, it makes matters worse because if these people could do that THEY WOULD! So Christians need to be like Jesus, heal, take time and pray hard for these abused people. They need “Christian mentality.”
Joyla))))))) yes my misunderstanding I apologize /Yet this does not mean we are to be lazy and just wait around for God to give us a holy zap to give us direction and get us going. God has given us a mind for a reason. Listen to God’s words in 1 Thessalonians and 1 Timothy,
For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now, such persons, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread. (NASB) 1 Thessalonians 3:11-12
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. (NASB) 1 Timothy 5:8
These passages imply we are to work. We are to feed ourselves and our family, but we are to depend on Him in all that we do.
Where in the Bible can we find, “God helps those who help themselves?” Inferring that we need to help ourselves and not depend totally on Him to provide our total earthly/human existence?
Bible Answer:
There is no such verse in the Bible. The principle behind the statement does not exist in scripture. Scripture actually says the opposite . . .
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow, we shall go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapour that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and also do this or that.” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. (NASB) James 4:13-16
Here God says that it is arrogant, boastful and evil to plan your own life without depending on Him. We should never plan to do something without depending on Him. We need to seek His will in our lives and follow it. The Word of God provides guidance. How often we ignore God! We need to listen to Him and trust Him.
God wants us to be totally dependent on Him. He wants to us to do His will.
God wants us to be totally dependent on Him. He wants to us to do His will. correction

Please pray for me, my marriage, my family, and for financial blessings. Prayer for me is because I am having health issues and need surgery; however, even with insurance, I am unable to pay for it right now. it’s a heart surgery and I believe once I have it I’ll feel so much better. Praying that God knows the perfect timing and that I’ll be able to get it done soon. Also, for me praying that I let go completely of the past hurt and damage my ex-husband caused me so that I can live a very happy life with my new husband. Also, prayer for my prayer life and walk with Christ. I was once a motivational speaker that spoke at women’s events and was even going to Biblical School; however, tragedy hit me and I turned my back on God. I was angry but now I understand those things were not of him. Prayer for my marriage because we are newly married but both of us had bad marriages before so the trust is shakey and there are just so many things we are insecure about. Even though we both know that we really love each other. Prayer for protection over my kids. Financial blessings as well. We both have jobs but husband is paid like a commissions person so each week it’s a different amount and some weeks we barely make it. Thank you in advance for all your prayers.
Praying right now for your situation. Trustbin the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shallbdirects your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. He (God is working on your situation right now)☺
